Community Purim Celebration
Purim Celebration & Megillah Reading
Please join us while we retell the story of Purim and recall the courage of our ancestors, Esther and Mordechai.
This is a community wide celebration, adults and kids, come in costume.
There will be activities for all ages (drinks for over 21) and a pot-luck feast.
Purim's Here,
But do RSVP to let us know to expect you. Call the Temple office at 305-235-1419 or reply by email to bethortemple@aol.com
I hope to see you all at the Purim Celebration on Sunday, and for any newcomers to Beth Or pot lucks: No meat (including white meat and the "other" white meat), no shellfish or other creepy crawlies from the ocean. Fish which originally had scales is ok, like tuna, salmon, herring, carp. No fake crab (it's got real crab in it).
Cheese: good. Bread: good. Pasta: good. Salads: good. White fish: real good. Eggs: good. Bacon: bad. Chicken salad: bad.
Please bring empty, individual size water bottles WITH the caps. We're making groggers for the Purim service.
And lastly, make sure your costume meets all California regulations for fire safety and also that it isn't too tight. We do have standards at Beth Or.
Rebecca has promised to personally waive your membership dues next year if you wear a costume on Sunday. The dues refund form will be in the next issue of the Light.
