Greta's Gnus - June 2010

Our hats off this month to be divided 3 ways.  Marcy Prince and Rowena Wallach just don’t seem to run out of energy year after year with their managing the Yard sale.  All the preparation for weeks before and then during the sale.  It is amazing the amount of energy they expend, and then this year they have added Kathy Fisler to their crew who never seems to run out of energy either.  What a dynamic trio…….

Zack Berse, son of Jen and Robert, won King of the Blues for his guitar playing at the Guitar Center.  He is off to regionals on the 22nd of this month and hopefully off to Nashville.  Mazel tov to the family……

Gus and Shirley Karger attended the Space Missile Pioneers “Spring Rocket” meeting.  This was a gathering of about 150 of the country’s space pioneers including astronauts.  Gus was one of the pioneers as he was President of the Electrical Engineering society and worked on satellite communications…..

Gary Raab, son of Dan and Carol Raab, graduated from FIU with a Business degree.  Mazel tov to Gary and his parents…..

Mazel tov also to grandma and grandpa Irene and Tom and mom, Lisa Dobarzynski, on Max’s graduation from High school..   We wish him well as he starts college at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro…….

Samantha Henry, daughter of Vicki and Michael, graduated from Killian High School and will be attending the University of Central Florida. Samantha and her lovely voice will be missed. Mazel tov to the family .......

Mazel tov to Audrey Gair, her parents Steve and Janet and her grandparents Rita and David.  She received the 11th grade outstanding English Honors award at New World.  She is multi-talented….

Norma Salz was beaming as granddaughter Zoe Truer attended services with her one Shabbat and also Torah Study.   Zoe,  who went through our Torah School, retired from the Air Force as a Captain after 8 years and now is going to take a world tour…….

Mazel tov also to our Rabbi and Mindy and proud grandma Arlene.  David Kram graduated Medical school in Tel Aviv and is starting his residency in Connecticut………

Grandparents Bette and Morris  Spector  and Aunt Rose Spector are extremely proud of their grandson/nephew.  Not only was he named Most Valuable Player of his high school soccer team, but at the awards banquet his coach said “ Zach is not only our MVP, but he is also an excellent student.  He is the kind of person any person would be happy to have as a son"…….

Our own Ellen Bukstel-Segal announces that her multitalented son, Brett Segal, who is an exceptional sound engineer (which we know) and is a producer for Shack in the Back Productions, is now an Massage therapist operating a mobile therapy business.. Her older son,  Todd Segal, who is a film maker, producer and editor for JLTV (Jewish Life TV) in L.A., has recently returned from Poland where he produced a two hour documentary segment of the March of the Living……Ellen is co-writer of “By My Silence,”  which was one of the top 10 in the New Zealand online song writing contest.  That is some talented family…….

Keep the news a coming .........
