Gnus - November 2009

Mazeltov and Happy 50th anniversary to Gail and Elliott Manning who will be doing a lot of traveling the next several months celebrating this big event.......

Hats off this month to April Miller who is now volunteering at Macdonald house (like she is not busy enough with the grandchildren and Beth Or)  Besides volunteering there she is collecting food items and paper goods to fill the coffers for the parents of the kids as they are always in need.  Scott is also procurring  fresh veggies and fresh fruit from vendors at the Flea market he operates and taking it to them.  What an awesome duo of giving and doing this wonderful couple is.........

Marcie Prince and Butch are off on a 10 day trip to Bangkok and Hongkong.  Have a great time..........

Was good to see Anne O'Hare and Shirley Pollak at the Red Tent, welcome back.........

For those of you that missed the Spaghetti dinner, it was your loss.  Barry and Holly  Elliott and their wonderful house for entertaining was full, Mike made his stupendous spaghetti sauce, April and Irene filled in all the other details and everyone there furnished (as usual)  Beth Or's fabulous food.  The evening was a huge success with Jen and Rob Berse winning the raffle and like the true mentsches they are donated their winnings back to Beth Or.......

In closing have to mention a nice note I received from new members Rhoni and Ned Tannenbaum who were so impressed with our new member Shabbat.  "Thanks to the congregation and especially to Rabbi Mark for the warm welcome at services and of course for the yummy oneg.  Thank you to Linda and Shep for being the vehicle to encourage us to join and to Linda for working with me on the bazaar.  Irene, you are a role model to me for the situation you and Tom are going through and yet digging in your heals and working and giving as you always have"...........
