Board of Directors Meeting

The Meeting was called to order by President Michael Newman at 8:15 P.M. He requested Rabbi Kram give a Kavanah.
Rabbi Kram talked on holiness and what it meant to be holy. He said it means to raise the level. He said people should do 100 blessings every day..
Minutes: Irene made a motion to accept the minutes of the last board meeting as presented. This was seconded and passed.
Shep made an announcement that there were back taxes due on the Mortgage that we hold. He will pay our share that is owed which is $4300. Irene made a motion that the monies that are paid to us monthly on the mortgage be paid to Shep until the $4300 is repaid. This was seconded and passed.
Nominating Committee: Shep said this will now be known as the Leadership Committee. They have met and there is a slate that will be presented in TWABO prior to the annual meeting as per the by-laws
Financial Vice President: Irene presented the budget for the coming year. She said it is a bare bones budget with no frills. It will have to be reworked as it shows interest income and we will not have this.
Program Vice President: May 29 will be our annual meeting. It will also be a Shavuot Fabregen. We will start the evening in the Sanctuary for the annual meeting and then move to the Oneg room.
Education: The Rabbi gave a report on his meeting with the Bnai Mitzvah kids and their parents. He felt very encouraged as they all were excited about continuing their education. He said he got four parents to volunteer to work on the future programs.
Administration V.P.: Jeff said that the Chikee should be complete by the 9th of May. The furniture is being painted Green.
Membership: April reported that we have 23 new members and she was going to attempt to engage the new members to be more active in the future. She set July 19 and Aug 2 as open house dates using the same formats as last year as they had been so successful. She was also going to use the same advertising format including one full page ad.
Meeting was adjourned at 9:30 p.m.
