Tucker Memorial
In the center of Beth Or's Meditation Garden sits the Tucker Memorial, a stone honoring Jacob Tucker who is Jeffrey Tucker’s grand-uncle. Jacob Tucker funded the Nalith Foundation which supports 501 C3 vegetarianism, sustainability and compassion educational projects.
Beth Or’s Tucker Memorial uses design elements created by Holocaust Memorial-designer Kenneth Triester, a world-renowned architect. For our Mogen David-shaped bench and Noah’s ark-inspired shade-house, Jeff Tucker received Mr. Triester’s permission.
Ram, our talented Guayanese carpenter, studied construction stylings visible at Temple Judea to shape the bio-friendly-harvested Amazonian beams and fittings, made from the indestructible Foreverwood. Notice how the wood acquires a deepening silver-gray patina as it ages. At Judea, Mr. Triester’s wooden structure sits behind the main building and uses stained glass elements to offset the magnificent wood tones.
A dedication service, led by Rabbi Rami, made the Memorial a part of Beth Or’s legacy.
