Congregation Bet Breira, Havurah of South Florida and Temple Beth Or are pleased to offer an exciting learning opportunity. Alan Morinis, author of “Climbing Jacob’s Ladder” and “Everyday Holiness”, will be teaching about the Jewish spiritual path of Mussar. The event will be at Congregation Bet Breira on Thursday, March 13th at 7:30pm.
The Mussar movement, developed by Rabbi Israel Salanter in the mid-1800s, teaches that we are all souls, but that the pureness of the neshama is obscured by our shortcomings. The Mussar path offers a systematic method for putting our lives in balance so that the pureness of our neshama can shine through. The Mussar path includes meditation, chanting, journaling and study. Alan Morinis is largely responsible for bringing Mussar teachings and practice to the non-orthodox world in the past decade. Alan’s most recent book, “Everyday Holiness” is a guidebook to establishing your own Mussar practice. Rabbi Rebecca discussed this book, and the Mussar movement, during the High Holy Days. Come learn more about this authentic spiritual path.
